As parents, you only want the best for your baby. So it’s only natural to make homemade baby food. There are countless recipes that are quick and easy to make. However, as parents, you don’t always find the time to prepare fresh compotes every day. That’s why we’ve tested a selection of suitable storage jars to help you make the best jars for your baby.
Starting to feed your baby
The baby should start feeding early, preferably at 4 months or 17 weeks of age. The baby and his digestive system typically take up to 6 months to adjust to feeding.
Food diversification is an important stage in a baby’s life. When introducing baby food, it all starts with discovering new flavours.
That’s why the different fruits and vegetables should be tried individually in the first few weeks to make sure your baby tolerates them and doesn’t have any allergic reactions. What’s more, when introducing a baby’s first little pots, small quantities should be preferred.
Which jars are most fit for baby food?
Lock-Eat jars are ideal for baby food jars. Lock-Eat storage jars are the perfect solution for storing food.
The innovative clip closure is easy to open and close. What’s more, as your baby food jars will be used on a regular basis, their detachable closure also makes them easy to wash. The seal is made from natural rubber, so it’s 100% plastic-free. Only the best for baby! Finally, Lock Eat jars are ideal for freezing your baby food.
- Glass lid
- Natural rubber seal
- Filling level
- Stainless steel elastic strap

Getting baby used to baby food
Since babies need some time to get used to compotes and porridges, it’s best to start with small portions. Here are a number of different jars that can be used as food intake increases.
Personalise your baby pots
Now we have the practical features covered, let talk about the personalisation options. We offer two printing methods to personalise the pots. We propose silk screen printing and digital printing on glass. Discover more about our printing methods here and create your own personalised glass jars.
Baby food recipe – For a complete diet
In the first few weeks, you should introduce one variety of vegetable at a time. Steaming is preferable as it preserves the essential vitamins. At first, vegetables should be well puréed. From 9 to 10 months, baby porridge can be mashed with a fork.
It is recommended that baby porridges consist of ⅔ of vegetables and ⅓ of starchy foods. Once your baby has got used to baby food, you can gradually increase the quantity. As soon as the quantity has reached around 200g, you can gradually stop the milk. The average quantity for a complete diet is between 180g and 300g.
Freezing baby food
First of all, it’s best to heat treat the hermetically sealed jars. To sterilise, simply leave the glass jars, lid and seal in a pan of boiling water for around 10 minutes.
Once the jars are full, leave them to cool and place them in the freezer.
