Founded in 1933 by Josef and Hedwig Schmidiger in a small bottling plant in Gontenbad, the company has developed into a major player with seventy employees.

The Appenzell region, known for its rich water sources and spa tradition, provided the ideal breeding ground. The Schmidiger family utilised this natural resource to become pioneers in the beverage industry with their own regional lemonades and liqueurs. Under the management of Gabriela Manser in the third generation, Goba AG expanded its portfolio through investments and innovations such as the Goba Manufaktur and products such as Flauder and secured itself a firm place in the beverage industry.

The design and manufacture of this extraordinary glass required the utmost precision, especially given its compact dimensions of only around 87mm in height and 48mm in width.

The challenge: an extraordinary jam jar

The development of the unique jam jar from Goba presented the Univerre team with an exciting challenge, which was mastered with a great deal of innovative spirit, perseverance and precision. The result is a masterpiece of glass design that is characterised by its conical shape, a round opening, an oval base and a delicate relief that elegantly winds around the glass.
