Founded in 1984 by Hans and Hildegard Bayard-Kuonen, Soleil de Varone Winery was born from a dream come true. After working 17 years in a factory, Hans Bayard decided to fully dedicate himself to his passion for vines and wine. This brave decision marked the beginning of a wonderful family adventure.
Over the years, the estate has grown to become a true regional reference. Today, more than 73,000 m² of vineyards are cultivated, featuring 11 different grape varieties.
Among their specialties are Pinot Noir Pfyfoltru and Balmgasse, true hallmarks of the house. The philosophy of Soleil de Varone is based on environmentally friendly practices, ensuring healthy vines and wines of outstanding quality. Since 2014, Hans and Hildegard’s sons, Byörn and David Bayard, have been carrying on the family legacy through Hans Bayard – Soleil de Varone GmbH.
A New Glass Bottle to Enhance the Pinot Noir Varrique
The latest creation from the winery, Pinot Noir Varrique, perfectly embodies the Bayard family’s craftsmanship and creativity. Its name is a subtle tribute to two strong inspirations: Barrique, the wooden cask in which it matures, and Varen, the family’s native terroir.
This refined red wine matured for one year in barrique, with only two-thirds of the volume bottled. The remaining portion continued aging alongside the new vintage, creating a unique complexity and unmatched elegance.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: alluring aromas of cherries and red fruits, enhanced by a subtle spicy touch and delicate roasted notes.
- Palate: velvety smoothness, perfectly integrated tannins, balance between fruit and oak, with a harmonious finish.
- Barrel aging: brings beautiful complexity, notes of vanilla and toasted bread, while preserving the signature finesse of Pinot Noir.

A Nature-Inspired Digital Design
To bring this cuvée to life, the client shared a few initial ideas, which Univerre’s graphic designer transformed into an elegant and distinctive visual identity.
The stylized “V” of Varrique highlights the union between Varen and Barrique, reinforcing the cuvée’s local roots and authenticity.
The sun, emblem of the winery, proudly shines on the design, symbolizing the warmth and energy that nurture the vines.
Finally, the vine tendrils, spread like butterfly wings, add a poetic and visual dimension — a symbol of nature, lightness, and movement.
Thanks to 360° printing technology, the bottle offers an immersive discovery: illustrations of vineyards, soil textures, and graphic details unfold as the viewer turns it, serving as a tribute to the richness of the terroir and the family’s enduring passion.
Our glass printing techniques :
Whether you opt for a minimalist, elegant design or a vibrant, creative visual, Univerre Pro Uva offers two high-quality printing methods to magnify your glass bottles. Each technique offers unique advantages, depending on your design, visual identity and desired volume.
Screen printing on glass
Screen printing combines traditional expertise with precision: up to six colours, including precious metals such as gold and platinum, can be applied directly to the glass. After application, the ceramic inks are vitrified at high temperature, giving a robust, dishwasher-proof finish. This process is ideal for elegant logos, clean lines and high-end visuals with a tactile effect.
Digital printing
Digital printing is revolutionising glass decoration: its infinite range of colours means you can reproduce subtle gradations, complex illustrations or photographs with exceptional fidelity. With no need for stencils or plates, this method is ideal for small runs, limited editions or variable designs.
