Weingut am Steinig Tisch: Bottle with digital printing: a terroir brought to light
For more than half a century, the Weingut am Steinig Tisch estate has embodied the excellence of Swiss wines and a deep respect for terroir. Founded in 1970 by August Rutishauser, the family-run winery has evolved over the generations while remaining true to its core values of authenticity and quality.
Today, under the direction of Roman Rutishauser, the estate cultivates eight grape varieties across more than 7.5 hectares, using sustainable methods and meticulous craftsmanship that promotes biodiversity. This constant pursuit of excellence is reflected in the numerous awards received at national and international competitions.
An Exceptional Terroir
The vineyard extends across the Buchberg, a steep, south-facing hill and the last foothill of the Appenzellerland. Characterized by Rorschach sandstone, the landscape is structured by dry-stone walls that run throughout the entire estate.
These walls store the heat of the day and release it back to the vines at night, while also providing a valuable habitat for many protected animal and plant species. Combined with poor, clay-limestone soil, this terroir offers the cultivated grape varieties ideal conditions and a particularly favorable microclimate.
Committed to preserving this remarkable landscape, the estate has promoted biodiversity for decades according to the principles of integrated production and applies rigorous yield regulation. Here, wine truly begins in the vineyard, in harmony with nature, through demanding manual work guided by expertise and passion.
The Buchberg in Silhouette on the Bottle
The design of this bottle pays tribute to the Buchberg vineyard, located in the municipality of Thal, through an elegant and contemporary silhouette representation.
The topographical lines of the hillside are subtly highlighted, visually extending toward Lake Constance and creating a strong graphic connection between landscape, terroir, and identity.
Digital printing proved to be the ideal solution: a modern, fast, and flexible printing technique perfectly suited to the launch of this new range. Designed to appeal to a younger generation, this line clearly stands apart from the existing collection, both through its innovative and distinctly contemporary aesthetic and its winemaking style. The visual concept was created by the Dachcom agency in Rheineck, which precisely captured the spirit of the place in a bold and modern graphic expression.
For this bottle project, the objective was to visually translate heritage, precision, and passion. The developed design highlights the estate’s strong identity and its deep-rooted connection to tradition.
Our glass printing techniques :
Whether you opt for a minimalist, elegant design or a vibrant, creative visual, Univerre Pro Uva offers two high-quality printing methods to magnify your glass bottles. Each technique offers unique advantages, depending on your design, visual identity and desired volume.
Screen printing on glass
Screen printing combines traditional expertise with precision: up to six colours, including precious metals such as gold and platinum, can be applied directly to the glass. After application, the ceramic inks are vitrified at high temperature, giving a robust, dishwasher-proof finish. This process is ideal for elegant logos, clean lines and high-end visuals with a tactile effect.
Digital printing
Digital printing is revolutionising glass decoration: its infinite range of colours means you can reproduce subtle gradations, complex illustrations or photographs with exceptional fidelity. With no need for stencils or plates, this method is ideal for small runs, limited editions or variable designs.
