Kombucha in glass bottles

Numerous models of glass bottles suitable for fermentation are being developed in the growing “health” drinks market. Kombucha contains probiotic bacteria as well as healthy yeast. It is known for its valuable enzymes (SCOBY) which have positive effects on digestion, among other things.

Choosing a glass bottle for fermentation

Fermented beverages are popular because they are based on ancient recipes and are rich in nutrients. Kombucha or Kefir are ideally packaged in glass bottles. Glass packaging has many advantages such as:

  • Preservation: the glass and its airtight seal allow better preservation of flavours
  • Sustainability: Recycled and recyclable, washable and reusable. Lightweight glass bottles are also ideal for mailings
  • Aesthetics: quality material
  • Health: glass is healthy and free of plastic micro-particles
  • Customisation: can be personalised with a print on glass or by creating your own bottle shape

Stand out with innovative glass packaging

Invest in your brand and increase your sales with innovative, branded, personalised packaging! According to a recent study, conducted with the neuroscience institute Mind Insights, it was found that a personalised glass bottle creates a particularly interesting impression on the perception of product authenticity. The perception of authenticity increases by 10% compared to a label. Increased authenticity is a sign of honesty for the consumer, who is therefore more inclined to buy a glass bottle with an enhancement than a bottle with a label.

What if your ideas became reality? Univerre puts its 40 years of experience at your service and offers you several customisation techniques:

Some examples of successful fermented drinks in glass bottles

The glass bottle from Urban Drinks Factory SA

Produced by craftsmen in Lausanne, the various Kombucha drinks from Urban Kombucha are 100% organic, 100% real. In fact, we would expect nothing less for the first kombucha in Switzerland! The team chose a transparent glass bottle mainly because glass is much more recyclable than PET. And also because glass is much classier! Moreover, the white glass allows the beautiful colours of the Kombucha range to show through. What a treat for your eyes with a bright visual and your taste buds with a delicious and sparkling fresh taste.

The Nycha Kombucha glass bottle

Nycha Kombucha offers an ideal drink for humans and the planet. Great emphasis is placed on quality. The ingredients are 100% vegan, organic and fair trade. Brewed from Darjeeling green tea from the Himalayas, the natural fermentation process takes place in Wettingen, between Zurich and Baden, Switzerland. The drink is then packaged in glass bottles for a healthy and environmentally friendly approach. In addition, the brand is committed to offsetting its CO2 emissions caused by the energy-intensive production of kombucha. When tasting Nycha kombucha, you will find a tasty balance between harshness and sweetness.

The MOYA Kombucha glass bottle

MOYA Kombucha, which has just arrived from the Graubünden Alps, is based on a strong idea: “drinks make a difference, choose the healthiest ones”. This is the challenge taken up by Julia Della Santa, already a fan of healthy cooking with “Julia’s Loftkitchen”. The brand offers a sparkling and delicious tea-based drink, delicately fermented in small batches using a traditional process. The unpasteurised drink excites with its dense flavour and boost of probiotic bacteria, enzymes, vitamins and nutrients. Made in their small brewery in Chur, the kombucha is made from 100% organic and local ingredients, often picked by Julia and her team. She even offers a purple coloured kombucha, we love it! The glass bottles have been chosen to minimise the environmental impact.

The glass bottle from La Casa de la Kombucha

In Barcelona, La Casa de la Kombucha‘s Kombucha aims to be 100% organic, eco-friendly, with no added sugar or gas, and without generating plastic. The start-up recently switched to a brown glass bottle to replace their clear glass bottle. Seth and Kendra realised that during the time it takes a person to consume their organic kombucha, the sun’s ultraviolet rays could irradiate the healthy drink, reducing its benefits due to the antibacterial effect of the sun’s rays. Therefore, the brown glass better protects the fermented drinks from direct sunlight and preserves all their properties. In addition, the Stubby model offers an assurance of modernity and gives kombucha a friendly look!
